By Sam Kirk
The Catawba County Tea Party will host a town hall at 6:30 PM on Monday, January 6th in Newton, at the Newton Expo in the Pin Station Bowling Center.
The town hall will feature the candidates for Catawba County Sheriff, including current Sheriff Don Brown and Brookford Police Chief Will Armstrong.
“Join us for an important evening of civic engagement as candidates for Catawba County Sheriff share their visions, answer your questions, and discuss the key issues facing our community,” a post on the Tea Party’s Facebook reads.
The event is open to all members of the public.
“This is your chance to hear directly from those running to serve and protect our county,” the Facebook post reads. “Whether you’re concerned about crime, public safety, community policing, or accountability, your voice matters.”
The Catawba County Tea Party is an organization that aims to “attract, educate, organize, and mobilize our fellow citizens to secure public policy consistent with our three core values of Fiscal Responsibility, Constitutionally Limited Government and Free Markets,” per their website.
