Patriot Motors opened in August on NC-16 in Chronicle, near the Lincoln/Catawba county line.
The business opened in the former location of the now defunct The Turn Sports Lounge.
Patriot is a local business owned and operated by husband-and-wife duo Davey and Lindsey Black. The truck dealership specializes in light commercial vehicles.
The company has been in operation for years but recently moved their operations to the location in the past few months.
“Our inventory includes everything from utility trucks, dump trucks, cargo vans, bucket trucks, forklifts, and tractors to the occasional pickup or family vehicle that catches our eye,” a statement on their website reads. “Whether you’re growing your business or replacing a dependable work truck, our goal is simple: offer quality vehicles at fair prices while providing exceptional customer service.”
Davey Black, a 20-year veteran of the North Carolina Air National Guard, takes inspiration from his time in the service, according to the organization’s website.
“His commitment to service, integrity, accountability, and excellence has become part of the foundation of Patriot Motors and influences how we operate our business every day.”
The Patriot Motors location opened amid public disappointment regarding the closure of The Turn.
Tim Schoenig, owner of The Turn, had originally expressed his intent to reopen the bar in a new location after the lease was not renewed in May. No new information has arisen regarding plans to reopen.
Several staff members from The Turn found new employment at the recently reopened Horsefeathers, renamed Bourbons and Bobbers by the new owners, including Keisha Gantt, The Turn’s former manager.
