Apartment construction underway near Killian Crossroads

Crews have started construction on a planned apartment complex off of NC-150, behind the Food Lion at Killian Crossroads.
The 17.17 acre complex will be named Catawba Village and will boast 240 apartment units across 8 buildings. A clubhouse and community pool will be built near the center of the development.
In an effort to reduce traffic, the developer has been required by the county to build turn lanes at the site’s NC-150 entrance.
The project was planned by the Cornelius-based North State Development, LLC and approved in April of 2021. It was sold in 2023 to FJS & JG, LLC, a Hickory-based company, and Inch & Co. Construction, a Pennsylvania-based company.
